Daily Inspiration from my book “the Call”
Never allow your talent to get in the way of the call
and don’t love the talent more than the call. If you do,
you are not worthy of the caller—your master! There
are many servants who choose their talent over the
call. Are you one of them? To answer that question,
perhaps it helps first to define talent.
Talent is the ability to do something with no effort.
While it might take some people years to be good at
a certain skill, for you it just comes naturally. All you
need is some instruction and guidance and you quickly
become perfect in that particular field.
The call is the word of God that has been designed
just for you. It might be a dream, a verse, or a simple
sentence. God calls us according to the strengths that
were created in us when we were wonderfully and
fearfully made. If God was going to call you to be a
missionary, he would use passion and compassion to
make His beautiful piece of art work that is you. He
would put the desire for adventure in you. You may
never be content to live in your home town. He would
put a strong desire of helping others in you. When it is
time for the Lord to call you, He is going to call forth the
seed to germinate.
The call is the extension of the talent; both should
work together to be the purpose of your life. You cannot
separate them; you cannot ignore one and expect to
do well with the other. ( buy the book right here in my shop)
