The Price of the Call for a Black Woman by Eunice Bazabaza Mawussi

Every black woman has a mission and a price for her individual call
which is the greatest assignment in life. God in his own wisdom
chooses our gender and color. Black woman ought to seek God’s divine
guidance in other to be who she’s been called for. How does one
fulfill this big task that is the blueprint for being ready for one’s
journey to happiness? Is it easy to achieve? And how does one measure
her price, which could even be higher when it comes to black women. It
is a process each woman will go through as a daughter, sister, wife,
mother or a professional while connected to God’s call. Let’s emphasis
on the price of the call a black woman pays as a mother and a wife.
A black woman is called to care, protect and love her children as all
mothers.  But what gets these children’s life style worse? Where does
she go wrong? We all go extra miles to give our children the best
promising future, but often they’re unable to break out of
generational and cultural vices within the black community.
The actual problem is when we hear the call, we answer it, but never
do we go deep in conversation with Jesus as in how to fulfill this
call as a mother. We never pay the price for it in fasting, praying or
training our children in the ways of God. Most mothers hope that the
word of God will miraculously touch their children by taking them to
church services. There is a presence of fellowship, but a lack of a
serious relationship between Christ and her children.
Seriously, let’s think of what could happen when a black woman closes
down her kitchen for three to Seven days and get at the feet of Jesus,
pray and fast. What if she stays on her knees until her household gets
a satisfactory atmosphere, until her children will come home in tears
of repentance, until her shop becomes full of customers, until she has
the phone call about the breakthrough she needs, until her son is
released from jail and change his ways to Christ? Until the Black
women understand how to be a mom, a Minister of miracles (M.O.M)
according to Dr. Isaac Paintsil, the price of the call for a black
woman as mother can never be fulfilled. Black woman shouldn’t speak
only to the pain of her children but makes the pain go away by
teaching them to spend a quality time at the feet of Jesus as one
family, one body. God has given her a power to subdue her family under
the anointing.
On the other hand, a black woman as a wife is called to be a Christian
wife according to the Holy Scriptures in submission to her husband.
Humility is absent in the life of black women nowadays.
God ordained the man to be a husband of one wife and cherish her, but
today he wants to cherish many. The women by default play the role of
men in the household today. We pay the price of that call by taking
our marital issues to God instead of our friends and families. Instead
of playing detective let’s learn to call on God to take over our
husband’s heart. All black women are called to be the armor bearer for
their husbands not their commanders. For only God fearing men treat
their families righteously and take care of their wives out of love
not out fear.
All women are fighters and survivors for that matter black women, but
sometimes we see battles were there are none, which take our attention
from the original purpose of our lives. We are called to nourish the
world, be a minister of miracles (M.O.M.) but there is a price to pay
for being superwomen. We need to adopt a constant prayer life and
believe till we see a change in situations that we face everyday.
Whether you are a mother or a house wife or working lady, we have to
sense the urgency of the season that God is getting ready to elevate
black women to a new place of blessing and influence. God is not only
touching us but He is eternalizing us by changing the course of our
family forever.
