Do not make your life an open book to everyone

As humans we fear being lonely so we surround ourselves with friends and family. Nothing is wrong with that, but please don’t make your life an open book for them. I always say, the more people knows about you, the easier it is going to be for them to destroy you.
Some people have to tell their friends every little single thing. The worst is when you talk about everything your mate is doing to you; your relationship will not go far. Pay attention to the Holy Spirit more than yourself or the advice of your family and friends.
This is what the Holy Spirit told me: “for you to be in perfect communion with God, please do not have a close friend that you tell everything to that is going on your life”
First, you don’t even know all your friend’s hidden agendas and which one of them is trustworthy. It would be so easy for the devil to get to you through your own friends, it happens all the time. We create our own circle for the enemy thinking that they are our friends.
When you get fired from your job, your co-workers are the first ones that come to your cubicle when you’re packing your stuff to leave to show their support to you, so you will not suspect them as the ones that are the source of you losing your job. You called those people your friends at work. You went to lunch together; you invited them to your family birthdays and other things, not knowing that you were exposing your life to them. Maybe you told them about your upcoming promotion; they were happy for you and promise you to take you out for celebration as soon as it happens. The next thing you know they are the ones that are promoted.
It is even worse for married couples to have single friends. When a married woman has her female friends over to her house, she tells them about all the issues she is having in her home and in her marriage. Before she knows it, the same friend has replaced her. Then we have the audacity to say, where be God when I lost my husband to another woman? Hello! You brought that on yourself.
